Cloverfield Newsletter Module
Clover No Hassle Newsletter for PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9: GDPR-compliant sign-ups with double opt-in, send your own HTML newsletters and track opens and clicks.
About this module
Your own newsletter, right inside your own store
A newsletter is one of the cheapest ways to bring customers back. Yet it's often a hassle: an external account at Mailchimp or Brevo, subscribers you have to move back and forth, and a monthly fee that grows along with your list.
With Clover No Hassle Newsletter, everything runs inside your own PrestaShop. Your subscribers, campaigns and statistics are stored in your own database. You don't need an external account or a monthly subscription, and you don't pay per email sent.
How it works
- Visitors subscribe: with double opt-in, they first confirm their sign-up via a link in their inbox
- You create your newsletter: load the sample template in the language of your campaign, or upload or paste your own HTML
- You check the result: the live preview shows you right away what your email will look like
- The module sends in batches: in the background via a cron job, even when your browser is closed
- You see what it delivers: opens and clicks per campaign, and how often each link was clicked
Why Clover No Hassle Newsletter?
- No monthly fees: pay once, send unlimited emails
- Your data stays yours: your subscriber list lives in your own database, not with a third party
- Better inbox placement: emails are sent from your store's email address, so your SPF and DKIM settings keep working as they should
- Ready for Gmail and Yahoo requirements: every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link and supports one-click unsubscribe (List-Unsubscribe)
GDPR-compliant from the very first sign-up
- Double opt-in, so only real, confirmed addresses end up on your list
- A consent checkbox with your own text per language, with a link to your privacy page
- Proof of consent: for every subscriber, the sign-up date, IP address and confirmation date are stored
- Works with psgdpr, the official GDPR module for PrestaShop, for exporting and deleting data
Bring your existing subscribers with you
- Import from CSV or Excel (.xlsx), with sample files included
- Customers who have already ticked the newsletter box, all in one go
- Subscriptions from ps_emailsubscription, the default newsletter module of PrestaShop
Safe sending, even on limited hosting
Many hosting plans only allow a limited number of emails per hour. That's why the module sends in batches. You decide how many emails go out at a time, from 1 to 1000. You can pause a campaign and resume it later. With the cron URL from the settings, everything runs automatically in the background.
Know what works
For each campaign you see the open and click percentages, and how often each link was clicked. That way you know which subjects and offers your customers are really interested in. Would you rather not track anything? Then switch tracking off with a single toggle.
Ready for multistore and multiple languages
Do you have several stores, or do you sell in multiple countries? The module supports multistore, and you create campaigns in the language of your subscribers. The documentation is available in 7 languages.

Yes. Turn on double opt-in, and a new subscriber will first confirm their signup via a link in their inbox. You can also show a consent checkbox with your own text per language, with a link to your privacy page. For every subscriber, the signup date, IP address and confirmation date are stored, so you can always prove consent. The module also works with the official psgdpr module for exporting and deleting data.
The module always sends from your shop's email address, so your SPF and DKIM settings keep working as they should. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link and supports one-click unsubscribe (List-Unsubscribe). Gmail and Yahoo now require this from every newsletter sender.
Yes, in three ways. You can import a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file. You can import in one go all the customers who have already ticked the newsletter box in their account. And you can carry over the subscriptions from the standard PrestaShop module ps_emailsubscription. Sample files for the import are included with the module.
No. With one click, load the sample template in the language of your campaign and just replace the text and links. Already have a design, or having one made? Then upload the HTML file or paste in the code. The live preview shows you right away what your email will look like.
The module sends emails in batches. You set how many emails go out at a time, from 1 to 1000. That way you always stay within the limit of your hosting plan. You can also pause a campaign and resume it later.
Only if you don't use a cron job. With the cron URL from the settings, called every 5 minutes, everything is sent in the background, even when your browser is closed. Not sure how to set up a cron job? Let us know and we'll help you.
Yes. For each campaign you can see the open rate and click rate, and for each link how often it was clicked. Opens are an estimate, because some email clients block images. Clicks are always reliable. Prefer not to track anything? You can turn tracking off with a single switch.
Yes. Each subscriber has their own language, and you can send a campaign to all subscribers or to just one language. The unsubscribe text is always sent in the subscriber's language. With multistore, each shop has its own subscribers and campaigns. The module itself is translated into Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Polish.
By default it appears above the footer, in the displayFooterBefore hook. You can move it via Design > Positions, or place it elsewhere in your theme with the code {widget name='clovernewsletter'}. Customers can also subscribe through the newsletter checkbox during registration and in My account.
